The activity tracker services compatible with our platform are Apple Health for iPhone, and Google Health + Health Connect for Android devices.
You can use these apps on their own, or if your activity tracker is compatible, you can connect it to one of them, and have it pass your data to the platform. Note that compatibility is not guaranteed in all cases.
- The connection process outlined below can only be done on the Aduro Mobile App, and not on your program website.
- A direct Fitbit connection to the platform is no longer supported. Please click here for specific instructions on connecting a Fitbit to the platform.
- Android devices using Android 13 or older may have issues with data sharing between Google Health and Health Connect. Unfortunately, this is outside or control.
- Download and install the Google Health and Health Connect apps from the Play Store. Create a Google account if you haven't already.
-
Launch Health Connect and set permissions to share data with Aduro and Google Health. Log in to Google Health and set permissions to share data with Health Connect.
- For help with Google Health and Health Connect, click here to visit their support page.
- If using a compatible third-party activity tracker, connect it to Google Health and Health Connect (click here details).
- Use your activity tracker and/or Google Health for 24 hours, and make sure it is tallying your data accurately.
- Download and install the Aduro Mobile App from the Play store if you haven't already. Log in using the same credentials you use with your program website. Tap the Menu icon (a series of horizontal lines) in the upper right. In the drop-down menu, tap Devices.
- On the Devices & Apps screen, tap the Connect button. Follow the prompts to grant permission for data to be uploaded to the platform.
- Note that data upload may happen quickly, but you should allow up to 24 hours for a full sync. To confirm upload on the Aduro Mobile App, tap the Me icon on the bottom menu bar, and then tap the My Data tile.
- If your data upload is ever interrupted, return to the Devices & Apps screen and tap the Manage button OR follow any onscreen instructions to disconnect Apple Health from the platform. Then reconnect to the platform and wait up to 24 hours for a fresh sync.
- To help ensure that the connection between your tracker service and the platform remains open and stable, we recommend that you occasionally log in to Google Health and review your data. This usually prompts a review of all permissions and connections, as well as a fresh sync.
